How do I get Modern Tones on Pro Tools?

I am curently working on an album with my band but I can't seem to get the right distortion and tones I want. We play metal and im trying to get a tone simmilar to Syn Gates from Avenged Sevenfold. The plug in I am using for my distortion is Eleven. If any one knows what settings to use, or another way to get the results I'm looking for, please let me know. P.S. I want to get the distortion and tone without the backround fuzz.
